New Vision UMC Confirmation Program
Confirmation
New Vision UMC Confirmation program are for students in 6th through 12th grades for Spring of 2025. Confirmation is an opportunity for young people to explore the Christian faith alongside other youth in a fun, relevant and engaging way.
Together, students consider what it means to be “rooted in faith” as a Christian. Upon completion of the program, youth will have an opportunity to profess their faith in Jesus Christ and be confirmed as new members of New Vision United Methodist Church of California-Nevada Conference of the United Methodist Church. All youth from our annual conference who are registered for Confirmation program will end our Confirmation program at our Bishop’s Confirmation Retreat at Camp Lodestar on May 23-25 with Bishop Sandra Olewine.
The program fee is $25 per student. Scholarships are available confidentially in cases of financial hardship. Please see our Chair of Finance Siu Lataimua.
Our Confirmation program will held every Sunday 10:15am-11:15AM in Room 101 taught by Dr. Maryah Tucker who is also our co-Youth Leader. The focus of our Confirmation program is helping each young person learn about God’s unconditional love and amazing grace through relevant conversations and engaging experiences
It is our goal that after completing the Confirmation program at New Vision UMC, youth will have:
• A stronger connection to other Christian youth
• A better understanding of their own values and beliefs
• A faith rooted in the love and grace of Jesus Christ

Our Approach
Rather than just lecturing at the youth, our Confirmation program aims to actively involve young people in a range of experiences that offer chances for learning, reflecting, and open conversation.
We believe Confirmation is not a destination, but more of a way station where youth have an opportunity to take personal ownership of their faith journey. Rev. Jim Peich
Pastor Tupou
Pastor Tupou Veikoso Taufatofua, believes that Confirmation is a very important milestone in a young person’s faith journey.
With this in mind, with the help of our co-youth Leader Dr. Maryah Tucker makes it a priority to serve as the lead teacher of New Vision’s Confirmation program. She is supported by a dedicated team of adult volunteers who are also Safe Gatherings certified.
